7 Giant Eagle Perks Some Pennsylvanians Never Cash In
Giant Eagle’s loyalty app now pushes out more than 25 million personalized offers a month.
Skip opening an offer, and it never applies at checkout.
These are the Giant Eagle perks some Pennsylvanians never cash in, whether the perk is already sitting in their account or one signup away.
1. Double Perks on Own Brand Buys
Giant Eagle puts its own name on hundreds of items under the Nature’s Basket and Great-to-Go labels, and every one of them earns a bigger reward.
A standard myPerks member earns one perk for every dollar spent on a regular grocery item, but swap that same purchase for an Own Brand product and the Advantage Card earns double the perks instead.
Pro status members earn triple.
Many carts still fill up with the same national brands out of habit, so a shopper who never reaches for Nature’s Basket coffee or a Great-to-Go rotisserie meal leaves those extra perks sitting on the shelf.
2. Pro Status’s 50% Perk Boost
Giant Eagle’s myPerks Pro tier pays out the loyalty program’s biggest perk: A 50% boost to every perk a shopper earns, across groceries, prescriptions, and gas.
The same lift pushes the Own Brand rate from double to triple.
Reaching that tier doesn’t require heavy spending.
Giant Eagle opens two doors to it: 2,500 qualifying perks inside six months, usually built from steady grocery spending, or 25 qualifying trips to Giant Eagle, Market District, or GetGo in that same window.
Everyday stops count toward that second door, a prescription pickup, a quick tank of gas, a fast in-and-out for milk.
Retirees often clear it first.
Other small-errand regulars generally reach 25 trips long before they’d ring up 2,500 perks, and many never realize that route is open to them.
The Math Behind Every Giant Eagle Perk
Giant Eagle’s myPerks program runs on one fixed rate: Fifty perks always equal one dollar off a transaction, whether that dollar comes off groceries or off gas at GetGo.
A shopper also keeps earning perks on the very trip where they’re redeeming them, a fix over Giant Eagle’s older fuelperks+ program, which paused earning during a redemption.
A shopper can also redeem that same balance as a percentage off the whole grocery bill or cents off each gallon at the pump instead.
The checkout screen compares those options automatically and highlights whichever option pays out the most on that trip.
3. Offers Sitting Unopened in the App
More than 25 million individually tailored offers move through Giant Eagle’s myPerks app every month.
Each offer is built off a single shopper’s own purchase history, not a blanket coupon everyone gets.
None of it applies.
It still takes one extra tap first.
A shopper has to open the app and tap “Exclusive to You” to activate an offer before checkout, and a card left in a pocket at the register never picks one up on its own.
Many Advantage Card holders scan their card every week and never once open the offers tab that’s waiting for them.
4. Bonus Perks Hiding in the Gift Card Aisle
A gift card purchased at Giant Eagle earns myPerks at the same rate as a cart of groceries, one perk for every dollar spent.
Many shoppers walk past it.
They never think to scan a card while they’re standing right in front of the gift card rack.
Giant Eagle also runs periodic bonus windows on select retailer gift cards, and it has multiplied the standard rate as high as five times during past promotions.
A $100 gift card bought during one of those windows can turn into 200 perks or more instead of the usual 100.
The windows rotate through the year with little more than a circular ad or an email to announce them, so a shopper who never checks either one misses the multiplier entirely.
Psst! How many of these Giant Eagle perks are you using? Run through this checklist and see where you stand.
5. AdvantagePay’s Instant Pump Discount
AdvantagePay, a second fuel-savings program built into Giant Eagle’s app, sits unused by many Advantage Card holders who never enroll.
Link a checking account to the card, and every gallon pumped at GetGo drops 5 to 30 cents the instant the card scans, no credit check involved.
Enrollment costs nothing, either.
That instant rollback stacks right on top of any perks a shopper redeems the same visit, and it’s currently limited to the Pittsburgh and Cleveland markets, which covers a wide stretch of western Pennsylvania.
6. Six Free Months of Pro Status
Giant Eagle grants Pro status automatically to every new cardholder of its co-branded myPerks Pay Visa, issued with the First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO), for the first six months.
Approval alone unlocks it.
A shopper doesn’t spend a dollar toward it first.
The card also earns 2% back at Giant Eagle and GetGo, 3% on dining, and delivers its own instant 5-to-30-cent gas rollback at the pump, on top of whatever a shopper already earns by scanning the Advantage Card.
Note: This is general information, not financial advice. Credit card terms, rates, and bonus offers are subject to change, so confirm the current details with FNBO.
Cardholders who never apply skip both the free Pro tier and the $50 welcome credit tied to that first purchase.
7. Perks on a Hotel Stay
Booking.com became a myPerks earning partner during Giant Eagle’s 2024 loyalty overhaul, and the tie-in still catches longtime members off guard.
A hotel stay has nothing to do with the produce aisle.
Yet it counts the same.
Book through the partnership and the stay earns perks toward the same balance a shopper spends at the register or the pump, folding a weekend trip into the same rewards math as a Tuesday grocery run.
Almost nobody thinks to check for it before booking.
GetGo Sold, but myPerks Stayed
Giant Eagle’s entire GetGo gas station network changed hands in a deal with Alimentation Couche-Tard, the company behind Circle K, that closed in the summer of 2025.
Couche-Tard said at the time it planned to keep running the myPerks platform at GetGo exactly as it was, so the fuel discounts above aren’t going anywhere just because the sign changed hands.
The rewards didn’t.
In Ohio, myPerks members can already redeem their perks at 285 Circle K pumps under the same account, a crossover Couche-Tard built through its own loyalty integration.
Pennsylvania’s GetGo stations haven’t picked up that Circle K redemption option yet.
A separate piece of the same deal pulled sites out of the myPerks network for good.
Federal Trade Commission-ordered divestitures tied to the sale sent 35 fuel and convenience stores across Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to Majors Management, including a former GetGo location.
Majors Management is rebranding those stores under its MAPCO convenience store banner, according to trade press covering the deal, and the sites drop out of the myPerks system entirely once the rebrand is done.
10 Pennsylvania Yard Sale Rules Sellers Break Without Realizing

Pennsylvania has no single statewide yard sale law, so a folding table on the wrong side of a township line can trigger a citation nobody saw coming.
Fines for the same mistake range from $50 in Greencastle Borough to $1,000 in Springettsbury Township, depending only on which township happens to be watching.

Pennsylvania hospitality doesn’t come with a posted checkout time, and that’s exactly the problem for a host too polite to bring it up.
By the time the family cat stops reacting to the guest room door opening every morning, the stay has usually gone on far too long.
