7 Wegmans Policies Pennsylvanians Often Miss
If Wegmans is your usual stop, you probably shop on autopilot.
That’s easy to do, but it can mean missing a rule that saves you money or time.
Here’s what Pennsylvania shoppers should know, from coupons to online orders.
1. Alcohol Returns
Wegmans lists a separate alcohol-return rule for Pennsylvania, according to its store policies page.
If you’re taking a bottle back, you’ll need a receipt from a Pennsylvania Wegmans store.
You’ll also have to return it at the store where you bought it.
Wegmans refunds alcohol in Pennsylvania only when there’s a quality issue with the product or packaging.
Changing your mind about a bottle doesn’t qualify.
2. Online Price Gap
Online, Wegmans prices remain about 15% above in-store prices, according to the chain’s online ordering FAQ.
That gap includes Wegmans’ cost for shopping your order.
On a cart that rings up at $100 in the store, you’d see roughly $115 online.
That’s $15 more.
Pickup carries no additional delivery fee, service charge or tip.
There’s also a $10 order minimum.
Delivery orders can add a delivery fee, a bag fee, a heavy order fee or a long-distance delivery fee.

3. Overcharge Refunds
Wegmans pledges not to charge you more than the shelf price, sale price or advertised price.
Under that general pledge, an overcharge gets you a refund of the difference plus $1 for pointing it out, according to the store policies page.
Massachusetts and the Greater Buffalo area have different terms.
4. Coupon Doubling
When you hand over a manufacturer's coupon, Wegmans doubles it if the face value is 99 cents or less, according to its store policies.
Four of the chain's 19 Pennsylvania stores follow a different rule.
At Williamsport, Allentown, Nazareth and Bethlehem, Wegmans caps your doubled coupon at $1.00.
Three Virginia stores, in Midlothian, Short Pump and Charlottesville, don't double coupons at all.
Wegmans Coupon Limits
Wegmans redeems your manufacturer's coupon at face value when the face value is $1.00 or greater.
The doubled or face value of your coupon also can't exceed the item's retail price.
You can use only four manufacturers' coupons on four of the same brand product each day.
Wegmans doesn't accept internet coupons over $4.99.
5. Returns Without a Receipt
Wegmans processes all refunds at the Service Desk only.
If you can't find your receipt, you may get store credit at the lowest sale price.
Refund totals over $25 require your Shoppers Club account and a valid, unexpired driver's license or equivalent, according to the store policies page.
6. Digital Coupon Stacking
Both a Shoppers Club discount and a digital coupon can be redeemed on the same item at Wegmans, according to its digital coupons FAQ.
You can also pair a digital coupon with a Wegmans paper coupon for the same item, as long as the total discount doesn't exceed the retail price.
On delivery and pickup orders, you'll need to be signed into your Shoppers Club account and clip your coupons before you check out.
Unless a coupon says otherwise, you can use a digital coupon only once.
7. Meals 2GO Orders
Wegmans says Meals 2GO prices are the same as in stores, with no fee to order individual meal items.
You can place an order up to 40 days before pickup, though cakes and most catering orders need at least 24 hours' notice.
Meals 2GO runs on a separate app from Wegmans' grocery app.
That's where you order prepared foods such as pizza, subs and sushi for pickup or delivery.
Aisle-Sorted Lists
You'll see your Wegmans shopping list sorted by aisle only in In-Store shopping mode, according to the app FAQ.
If you switch to Pickup or Delivery mode, Wegmans sorts the same items by department instead.
That means the order of your list depends on how you plan to shop.
You can create as many shopping lists as you want, but you can have only one active shopping list at a time.
Organic Wellness Key
Why would an item sit under the Wegmans app's organic filter without being certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture?
Wegmans' app FAQ answers with a green organic wellness key.
Wegmans puts that key on products made with some organic ingredients.
The example is a product made with organic grains.
If you're filtering for organic because of how a product is certified, check the package before it goes in your cart.
Photos in Your Store
Wegmans' FAQ says its stores are private property, so it reserves the right to limit photography and videography.
Even so, you're free to capture the memory in a few cases.
Those cases include being an out-of-town visitor, watching your child do something amazingly cute or enjoying lunch with friends in the Market Café.
If you have a question, Wegmans encourages you to speak with the store manager or call its Customer Care Center.
