6 Reasons Arizonans Will Cross Three Lanes of Traffic for a QuikTrip

Most gas stations are a quick stop you forget by the next exit.

But some Arizonans around Phoenix and Tempe will gladly go out of their way for QuikTrip, and it isn’t just about the gas.

Here’s what keeps those drivers coming back.

1. Bathrooms Cleaned Every Half Hour

A Phoenix QuikTrip lists bathrooms cleaned every half hour on its store page.

A Tempe store lists the same schedule.

If you’re picking a restroom stop in Arizona, GasBuddy’s 2017 ranking of gas station restrooms put QuikTrip on top.

Users submitted the ratings.

In all, the ranking drew on nearly 1.5 million reviews covering more than 140,000 locations nationwide.

2. Made-to-Order Kitchen Counters

QuikTrip’s QT Kitchens counters make pizzas, pretzels and barbecue fresh to order, a Phoenix store listing says.

Tempe’s counter lists a breakfast taco and a breakfast croissant.

Breakfast pizza has three sizes.

The menu falls into seven categories, from crispy snacks and pizzas to pretzels and frozen treats.

The crispy snacks list alone runs from chicken strips and mozzarella sticks to waffle fries and apple pie.

If you’re coming in late, both the Phoenix and Tempe kitchen counters close at 10 p.m. every night.

3. 24-Hour Roller Grill

You can still get an Oscar Mayer all-beef hot dog at a QuikTrip after the kitchen counters close at 10 p.m.

The roller grill carries that hot dog around the clock.

The Phoenix store’s grab-and-go listing names the all-beef hot dogs, taquitos, breakfast sandwiches, subs, salads, wraps and donuts.

4. More Than 30 Fountain Flavors

More than 30 flavors of soda and tea come out of a QuikTrip fountain, according to a Tempe store listing.

Frozen drinks like Freezoni and smoothies are in the mix too.

You can pick a different soda or tea each day for a month.

Phoenix lists specialty drinks too.

5. Fuel Guarantee

QuikTrip’s fuel page promises that all of its motor fuel won’t harm your engine.

If engine trouble traces back to QuikTrip fuel, the company will reimburse repairs it determines stem from its fuel.

How QuikTrip’s Fuel Guarantee Claim Works

QuikTrip’s fuel guarantee runs through a claim, and the company’s fuel page lays out the steps.

You contact a QuikTrip division office, then submit a mechanic’s form with repair estimates.

It reimburses repairs it determines stem from its fuel.

The guarantee excludes damage caused by fuel that your vehicle’s manufacturer doesn’t approve.

6. Free Air and Curbside Pickup

What can you do at a QuikTrip besides fill up?

A Phoenix store’s listing names free air, an ATM and an Amazon Locker among its services.

Tempe also lists bagged ice.

You can fill your tires, pull cash and pick up an Amazon order in one stop.

The QT Mobile App page lists ordering ahead for curbside delivery, and both the Phoenix and Tempe stores include curbside pickup.

The app’s fuel-price feature lets you check prices before you leave home.

Arizona Since 2000

QuikTrip’s timeline puts that first Phoenix opening in April 2000.

By January 2010, QuikTrip had opened 70 stores in the Phoenix area, according to CStore Decisions.

The first Tucson store followed that same month, at 2345 E. Irvington Road.

It opened a night early.

QuikTrip planned four Tucson stores by late April 2010.

A company spokesman said QuikTrip typically builds as many stores in a market as that market will hold.

Today, QuikTrip’s store locator lists Arizona stores in 23 cities.

You can find a QuikTrip from Casa Grande to Sun City on that list.

Phoenix alone lists more than 40 stores, among them addresses on Camelback, Indian School, McDowell, Thomas, Bell and Baseline roads.

A 1,200-Store Chain

QuikTrip opened its 1,200th store in February 2026, according to C-Store Dive.

QuikTrip plans at least 80 new stores in 2026, so you may see a new one on your route.

How QuikTrip Rates Nationwide

The American Customer Satisfaction Index’s 2026 study of convenience stores scored QuikTrip at 80.

A Michigan State University professor helped lead the research, which rests on 9,475 completed surveys collected from October 2025 through September 2026.

If you’re comparing chains by score, that tied QuikTrip with Sheetz and Wawa for second place, behind Meijer’s 82.

The industry average was 75.

QuikTrip’s score held steady from the year before, while Sheetz and Wawa each fell 2%.
