7 Ways Arizonans Lose Fry’s Fuel Points Without Noticing
Order Fry’s groceries through DoorDash or Instacart, and your fuel points might not show up at all.
It comes down to one setting, and it’s easy to skip.
Here are the ways Arizonans lose Fry’s fuel points without noticing, so you get every point you’ve earned.
1. Month-After Expiry
Standard Fry’s points expire on the last day of the month after the month you earn them.
Points earned in May, for example, expire on June 30.
Each month is a separate earning period, so a May balance doesn’t merge with the next month’s.
The program is now called Kroger Points, formerly Fuel Points.
Fall Expiry Dates for Fry’s Points
Points from an Oct. 31 Fry’s purchase expire on Nov. 30, while points from a Nov. 1 purchase last through Dec. 31.
October points expire on Nov. 30, and November points expire on Dec. 31.
2. Fuel Purchases That Earn Nothing
Fuel purchases at a Fry’s fuel center earn no Kroger Rewards points unless the fuel center or a promotion says otherwise.
Cardholders can still collect card points on fuel, though the Kroger terms list zero Kroger Rewards points for it.
Without the card, a fuel discount costs you points and earns none back.
3. Groceries Instead of Fuel
Fry’s points can go toward groceries as well as fuel, but the two options don’t pay the same.
Redeeming the usual daily limit of 1,000 points gets you $10 off your next grocery purchase.
Spend those same 1,000 points at the pump and they’re worth up to $1 off every gallon.
That discount works only at participating Kroger family fuel centers and partner stations in your area.
Over a 35-gallon fill-up, that reaches up to $35, or $25 more than the grocery route.
AZFamily reported in June that the maximum fuel discount may vary by location.
Redemptions for groceries are final, since the points can’t be reinstated, refunded or reversed.
The $10 reward expires on the last day of the month after it’s issued.
4. Checkout Without Your Rewards Number
Without your Rewards Number or Alt ID, a Fry’s purchase isn’t eligible to earn points.
Your number may sit in your digital account or, if you enrolled in a store, on a physical card.
At checkout, you can pull the number up in the app, scan your card or type your Alt ID into the keypad.
An Alt ID is a ten-digit number you choose online.
A purchase on the Fry’s Rewards World Elite Mastercard without the number or Alt ID is eligible only for card points.

5. Unlinked Delivery Apps
Instacart, DoorDash and Uber Eats orders can earn Fry's points, but only when your Kroger rewards account is linked to your account on the app.
Without the link, those orders may earn no points.
Pickup and delivery service fees don't earn points on any order, linked or not.
6. Unclipped Bonus Events
Fry's bonus-points events start with a clip, and the points page shows a Sign In To Clip button beside each one.
October's 4X event on meat and seafood covered purchases from Oct. 7 through Oct. 13, with points set to load within 24 hours.
A separate 4X gift card event ran through Oct. 20.
Clipping coupons is how you earn the points, so an event you never clip may never pay out.
7. Excluded Gift Cards
Most gift cards earn 2 points for every $1 spent at Fry's.
Unless noted otherwise, Kroger gift cards, prepaid reloadable debit cards and variable-load Visa or Mastercard gift cards earn no points.
Put $100 on one of those and you collect nothing, where a qualifying card would have earned 200 points.
What Boost Adds
Boost is a paid Kroger membership that helps Fry's shoppers reach up to $1 a gallon or $10 off groceries faster.
It works by doubling points on groceries and general merchandise, so $1 of spending earns one point plus one bonus point in store, at curbside pickup or on delivery.
Boost Essential costs $69 a year, while the full Boost costs $99.
Bonus points skip fuel purchases, pharmacy prescriptions, adult beverages, tobacco and Kroger gift cards.
To collect them, you need to give your loyalty card information at checkout.
Prescription Refill Points
Qualifying prescription refills at Fry's earn 25 points, or 75 points for a 90-day refill.
Federally funded prescriptions follow a different formula, earning 1 point for every $1 of out-of-pocket cost.
A $5 out-of-pocket cost on one of those earns you 5 points.
Cardholder Extras
Primary Fry's Rewards World Elite Mastercard holders get a $10 birthday reward each calendar year.
Kroger credits it within 30 days of the birthday, provided the card account is active and in good standing.
The reward covers eligible groceries, but you can't use it on fuel purchases.
It expires on the last day of the second month after it's issued, and any welcome bonus follows the same fuel and expiration rules.
Primary cardholders also receive a complimentary Boost Essential membership while the card account stays active and in good standing.
Card Points Expiry Exception
Points on the Fry's Rewards World Elite Mastercard follow a different expiration rule from other Fry's points.
Points earned with the card don't expire while your card account stays active and in good standing.
Kroger can limit, remove or forfeit card points if the account is suspended, inactive or not in good standing, or if it determines that fraud, abuse or misuse has occurred.
