5 Aldi Secrets Employees Wish South Carolinians Knew
Many South Carolinians know the basics of Aldi by heart.
But a few details can catch even a regular off guard.
Here’s what Aldi employees wish you knew before your next grocery run.
1. ALDI Finds Run Weekly
On its Aldi 101 page, Aldi says its ALDI Finds are limited premium items each week, and not all of them are food.
The Finds go fast.
Aldi’s ready-made meals release adds that new meals will hit ALDI Finds shelves every month throughout the next year.
That makes the Finds a moving target, with new items weekly and new meals monthly.
If you skip the Finds shelves, you could miss what the week brings.
Worth a look.
2. What the Price Cuts Skip
Kirkwood chicken breast family packs are $1.99 per pound at Aldi, which the company calls the lowest everyday price since 2022.
That’s part of Aldi’s fall reductions, which run until at least Nov. 3.
Aldi says nearly one-third of the products on its shelves every day are priced lower than they were last year.
The reductions are estimated to save $86 million.
The catch?
The reductions don’t include rotating seasonal items or ALDI Finds.
If your cart leans on seasonal items or Finds, you sit outside those cuts.
3. Delivery Price Gap
Aldi says its online and delivery prices may vary and be higher than the prices in its stores.
Instacart, DoorDash and Uber Eats are delivery partners Aldi named in its January 2026 growth plan.
So if you order through one of them, the fall price cuts you read about may not match what you pay at your door.
4. Nicknames on the Package
Aldi says some items, like Red Bag Chicken, will adopt shopper-given nicknames.
That comes from Aldi’s September 2025 packaging refresh, which puts the Aldi name on every product.
More than 90% of its products are private label.
Brands like Clancy’s, Simply Nature and Specially Selected stay, with modernized branding and an “ALDI Original” endorsement.
Every product will be refreshed over the next few years.
If you shop by brand name, you’ll see the Aldi name on more products as the refresh rolls out.
Look for the logo.
5. Aldi’s Bag Policy
Aldi 101 tells you to grab one of the company’s reusable bags and pack your groceries.
That helps keep the lines moving faster and saves shoppers even more money.
Aldi also says it met its goal of removing all plastic shopping bags by the end of 2023.
In its January 2024 release, Aldi said the change would keep nearly 4,400 tons of plastic out of circulation each year.
If you pack your groceries at an Aldi checkout, you’re following the system the company describes.
Bagging is on you.
What Aldi Says Is Leaving Its Foods
Aldi says its exclusive-brand food, vitamin and supplement products are free from certified synthetic colors.
In April 2026, Aldi said it will eliminate a total of 57 ingredients from its products by December 2027.
It’s working closely with suppliers on the reformulations.
When you read labels, Aldi’s exclusive brands are the products the pledge touches.
Read the label.
What Aldi’s Ingredient Pledge Covers
The pledge covers private-label food, vitamin and supplement products.
Aldi says it had already removed 13 ingredients and was one of the first national grocers to remove certified synthetic colors from its exclusive products, in 2015.
The April 2026 removal list adds 44 more, including Acesulfame K, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), Titanium Dioxide and Potassium Bromate.
Ready-Made Meals at the Entrance
Aldi’s first-ever ready-made meals start rolling out in select markets in early October, and the company says they’ll be nationwide by January 2027.
You’ll find the meals in the refrigerated meals section near the front entrance of the store.
The rollout takes months.
Your store may be in a later market.
Single-serve meals like Chicken Burrito Bowl and Beef Bolognese Spaghetti are under $8.
The single-serve lineup also includes Butter Chicken & Rice and Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo.
Family-size meals, such as Meat Lovers Pizza Bake, are under $15.
Aldi describes the meals as fresh and never frozen.
Aldi’s Testing and Awards Claims
Aldi says its culinary experts test every item it sells for quality and freshness.
Every product is tested and tasted up to five times.
Aldi’s awards page says its products have won more than 2,100 awards since 2017.
Product of the Year is determined through an annual survey involving over 40,000 shoppers, with voting carried out by Kantar.
Those are Aldi’s claims about its testing, so your taste test still decides what earns a spot in your cart.
Claims, not verdicts.

Aldi on the Grand Strand
Aldi was set to open a Murrells Inlet store on Sept. 10, 2026, the Post and Courier reported on Sept. 9.
The address is 4430 U.S. Highway 17, the former site of Badcock Home Furniture & More.
Aldi already has stores in Conway, North Myrtle Beach, Pawleys Island and Surfside Beach.
Four.
That's four stores, so Murrells Inlet would make five.
If you shop the Grand Strand, you'd have five Aldi stores to choose from by that count.
Doors were set to open at 9 a.m.
The first 200 customers were set to receive goodie bags with Aldi products, the paper reported.
