Costco Is Opening 5 New Warehouses in November, Including in Idaho, Arizona and Wisconsin

Walking into a brand-new Costco feels good, and one of the November openings comes with a twist.

It’s a Business Center.

But Costco says any member can shop there, not just businesses.

Here are the new Costco warehouses opening in November, including in Idaho, Arizona and Wisconsin.

1. South Meridian

Costco’s South Meridian warehouse is set to open Thursday, Nov. 5, at 203 E Tower Lane, based on its warehouse page.

Of the four openings with a date, you’ll see this one first, 19 days before Franklin’s.

The building covers 200,342 square feet, though you can’t enter 26,036 of those.

BoiseDev lists the current store in north Meridian at 152,000 square feet, so the new building is about 48,000 square feet bigger, counting the space you can’t enter.

Idaho Press reported in July that the plan includes a 16-pump gas station.

2. Vallejo, California

Vallejo’s Costco is moving to a new location, according to the company’s opening page, which lists Friday, Nov. 6.

The page lists 198 Plaza Drive, which is the address of the existing Vallejo warehouse, so no new street address is posted there.

If you’re planning a first trip, confirm the street before you drive.

Vallejo Sun reported in April that a new Costco is planned at Admiral Callaghan Lane and Turner Parkway, more than a mile from Plaza Drive.

That report described a 152,000-square-foot store with a 30-pump gas station and gave no opening date, so it doesn’t confirm that site is the November one.

Costco counts relocations like this one as new warehouses, as the annual-report section below explains.

3. Chandler

Chandler’s new Costco is a Business Center warehouse, and its warehouse page lists a Saturday, Nov. 7 opening at 1111 West Pecos Road.

Business Centers are geared more toward restaurants and other businesses, while the regular Costco model is aimed at families, according to a Gilbert Independent report.

A preliminary plan the city council approved in February 2025 calls for a 144,000-square-foot building on 18.6 acres at Alma School and Pecos roads, just north of Loop 202.

That plan also called for a gas station near the southeast corner of the property.

Saturday shoppers get this one; the other three dated openings fall on a Thursday, a Friday and a Tuesday.

Who Can Shop a Costco Business Center

Costco says any member can shop at a Business Center, not only businesses.

Just show your membership card at the door.

Costco says each Business Center is filled with hundreds of items that regular warehouses don’t carry.

Heavy-duty appliances, a wider drink lineup and larger quantities of food are among the items it highlights.

4. Newport News, Virginia

Newport News is getting a bigger site for its Costco, and September reporting put the opening in November.

Costco’s Newport News page mentions no new opening or day as of Oct. 29, and the report gave only the month.

That report put the new site on the former Ferguson headquarters property near Jefferson Avenue and Bland Boulevard.

The new store will be 13% larger than the Jefferson Plaza store it replaces.

You’ll get 24 gas pumps instead of 12, and parking grows from 397 spaces to 829.

The site is about 2 miles from the current store, so Newport News gets a larger warehouse close to the one it has now.

Costco’s annual report treats a move like this as a new warehouse.

5. Franklin

Franklin's Costco is now opening to the public at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 2710 W. Drexel Ave., the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Oct. 23.

That is a day earlier than the Nov. 25 date Mayor John Nelson gave Milwaukee TV station WISN in early October, and the report gave no reason for the change.

You'll find gas pumps at the 164,000-square-foot store, the report said.

Early coverage called it Milwaukee County's first Costco, but the Journal Sentinel found it's the second, after a late-1980s store at 150 W. Holt Ave. that's now a Home Depot.

If you're stocking up for Thanksgiving, Franklin's is the only one of the four dated openings inside the holiday's week, two days before Nov. 26.

How Openings Get Counted

In its fiscal 2026 annual report, Costco said it opened 28 new warehouses, including three relocations.

Net of the three moves, Costco ended the year with 25 more warehouses than a year earlier.

That left 939 warehouses at the end of August, including 647 in the United States and Puerto Rico.

The company plans to open up to 33 new warehouses in fiscal 2027, including five relocations.

Fiscal 2027 began right after Aug. 30, so you can count every November opening inside it.

How the Five Compare on Size

The same report puts the average warehouse at about 148,000 square feet, with newer units slightly larger.

If you shop by size, Meridian's 200,342-square-foot building is the biggest of the four with a size on record.

Franklin's 164,000 comes next, then the 152,000 square feet planned in April for Vallejo's new site.

Chandler's planned 144,000 square feet is the only one of those four under the average, and Newport News's coverage gives only a 13% increase, not a total.

When Opening Dates Move

The November dates took shape in stages, so you may want to check before you drive.

In July, Idaho Press reporting on the South Meridian warehouse said only that it would open in late 2026.

By September, BoiseDev reported that Costco had confirmed a November opening.

Franklin's date has already moved once, on Oct. 23.

In Newport News, city projections made earlier had estimated the development wouldn't be ready until 2027, according to the September reporting, so a November opening comes months sooner.
