Buc-ee’s Is Coming to Louisiana, North Carolina and Georgia in 2027

A new Buc-ee’s can mean a new place to fill up and, for some people, a new place to clock in.

Construction has already started at each site, though opening dates are still targets.

Here are the new Buc-ee’s stores coming to Louisiana, North Carolina and Georgia in 2027.

Ruston

Ruston, Louisiana, is one of the six 2027 openings Buc-ee’s announced in September, and it will be the state’s first Buc-ee’s.

If you’re driving Interstate 20, work was underway by June 2026 at the site near the Tarbutton Road exit.

The Lincoln Parish Journal reported in June 2026 that the project is still tracking toward an April 2027 opening.

The radio station KPEL reported in December 2025 that the 74,000-square-foot store will have 120 gas pumps.

KPEL says the store will bring more than 200 full-time jobs, with starting wages of $18 an hour.

If you stop in, founder Arch Aplin III said at the groundbreaking that you’ll find Texas barbecue, brisket and jerky, plus Louisiana items such as boudin.

WAFB in Baton Rouge reported in May 2026 that walls were going up at the site.

Mebane

Buc-ee’s broke ground on North Carolina’s first location in Mebane on June 10, 2026, with developers targeting a late 2027 opening.

Axios reports that the company’s chief executive puts the opening in November 2027.

The Alamance News calls that a tentative date for the company’s 70th store and puts the investment at $60-$70 million.

You’ll find it in Alamance County, just west of the Triangle, on Trollingwood-Hawfields Road off Exit 152 from Interstates 40 and 85.

Mebane won approval after neighboring Orange County rejected a prior effort 8 miles down the highway.

Buc-ee’s is contributing $10 million toward the state Department of Transportation’s $38.7 million project to add lanes and signals on Trollingwood-Hawfields Road.

If you’re looking for work, cashiers, bathroom attendants and warehouse staff start at $18 an hour, and food service workers start at $21.

It will have 120 gas pumps at 60 fueling stations.

Plans also call for 24 electric vehicle charging stations and 652 parking spaces.

The Mebane store will cover 74,440 square feet, and elected leaders pointed to the 200 full-time jobs planned.

Forsyth

Georgia’s fourth Buc-ee’s is coming to Forsyth, in Monroe County, and work on the site has already begun.

Buc-ee’s broke ground there on April 7, 2026, at 1080 Rumble Road.

You’ll find the new store off Exit 181 on Interstate 75, about 17 miles northwest of downtown Macon.

After the April 2026 groundbreaking, Georgia Public Broadcasting reported that the store should open in the next 14 to 16 months.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports a likely late summer 2027 opening.

Buc-ee’s says the store will have 74,000 square feet and 100 fueling positions, and it will bring at least 200 full-time jobs.

Buc-ee’s says the Forsyth store will serve travelers heading to and from the coast.

Buc-ee’s expects about $30 million in annual sales at the Forsyth store, according to Georgia Public Broadcasting.

If you’ve never been inside a Buc-ee’s, its Forsyth release promises Texas barbeque, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries.

If you’re driving through Middle Georgia, you can already stop at the Warner Robins Buc-ee’s, which is within a 25-minute drive of the new site.

How Buc-ee’s Dates Have Shifted

A September 2025 report had Buc-ee’s opening in Ruston, Louisiana, in early 2027.

In September 2025, Atlanta station WSB-TV had Buc-ee’s opening in Monroe County, Georgia, in March 2027.

A January 2026 report had Buc-ee’s opening in Mebane, North Carolina, by May 2027.

If you’re planning a trip around an opening day, treat each date as a target until Buc-ee’s confirms it.

Buc-ee’s Other New Stores

Buc-ee’s has three more stores on its 2027 list outside Louisiana, North Carolina and Georgia, in Kansas City, Kansas; Gallaway, Tennessee; and Boerne, Texas.

If you’re following the 2027 list, a Fort Pierce, Florida, store once meant for 2027 will open in 2028 instead, according to the TV station WPEC.

Further out, Buc-ee’s has stores due in 2029 in Ocala, Florida, and Oak Grove, Kentucky, along with Arkansas’s second location.

Lafayette’s 2028 Store

Buc-ee’s Lafayette store is under construction, but it isn’t on the 2027 list.

Radio station KPEL says the timeline was pushed to 2028.

Buc-ee’s had planned to open both Louisiana stores by the end of 2026.

That leaves Ruston as the only Louisiana Buc-ee’s expected in 2027.

If you’re driving Interstate 10 near Louisiana Avenue, KPEL says construction there has had multiple setbacks.

East of Lafayette on Interstate 10, a Buc-ee’s opened in Pass Christian, Mississippi, in 2025.

The Buc-ee’s Lafayette travel center will span 74,000 square feet with 120 gas pumps.

The $82 million Buc-ee’s Lafayette project includes $12.5 million in public infrastructure improvements.

If you’re job hunting around Lafayette, the Buc-ee’s Lafayette store is expected to create at least 150 jobs, with starting wages of $17 an hour.
