6 Hy-Vee Perks Minnesotans Leave on the Table

A Hy-Vee account can do more than knock a little off your grocery total.

Many Minnesotans overlook the benefits that can help them.

Here are the Hy-Vee perks worth claiming on your next trip.

Note: This is general information, not medical advice. Hy-Vee’s programs and pharmacy services are subject to change, so confirm the current details with your Hy-Vee store.

1. Free Dietitian Discovery Sessions

A complimentary Dietitian Discovery Session is listed on Hy-Vee’s dietitian pages for stores in Albert Lea, Austin, Eagan, Mankato and Rochester Circle Drive.

Mankato has two Hy-Vee stores, Riverfront and Hilltop.

Both Mankato stores’ dietitian pages list the session.

When you schedule the session, you meet your Hy-Vee registered dietitian and learn about the services offered.

Beyond the Complimentary Dietitian Perk

Hy-Vee lists Nutrition Counseling as a service separate from the complimentary Discovery Session, in 30-minute and 60-minute consults.

The Start Strong 21-Day Health Challenge is an on-demand digital download.

If you want it, you’ll find it listed at $29.99 on the Albert Lea, Eagan, Mankato Hilltop and Rochester Circle Drive pages as of Oct. 3.

2. Fuel Saver Rewards

Fuel Saver rewards are fuel discounts you can redeem at Fast & Fresh locations in eight Midwestern states, Minnesota among them, according to Hy-Vee’s main Perks page.

In Mankato, the Riverfront store page lists a Fast & Fresh convenience store with 24-hour pay-at-the-pump service.

Rochester’s Circle Drive location has a Fast & Fresh convenience store open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Eligible products at Hy-Vee earn them, and you can spot those items by the Fuel Saver icon online, on shelf signs or in the weekly ad.

Rewards load to your account automatically with each eligible purchase, and you redeem them by swiping your Perks card or scanning the digital card before you pump.

Perks cards are also accepted at participating Casey’s, Sinclair, Shell and Pump & Pantry locations, where you need the physical card to redeem fuel savings.

3. $4 Generic Prescriptions

Hy-Vee Pharmacy lists more than 100 generic medications, and some start at $4, according to its $4 generics page.

Many are priced for a 30-day supply starting at $4 or a 90-day supply starting at $10.

The list’s prices are dated June 16, 2025.

The prices come with no enrollment or fees, and with insurance you pay whichever is lower, the list price or your co-pay.

The program isn’t an insurance plan.

Hy-Vee Pharmacy also accepts most major prescription discount cards.

Minnesota is among the eight states where you can stop by a Hy-Vee Pharmacy to learn more.

4. Free Immunization Screenings

Hy-Vee pharmacists are certified immunizers who are happy to provide a free immunization screening upon request, according to the pharmacy page.

You can find out which vaccines are right for you and available at your local Hy-Vee Pharmacy.

Hy-Vee’s store finder lists pharmacies at Twin Cities-area stores in Robbinsdale, Plymouth, Eagan and Maplewood.

New Hope, Spring Lake Park and Brooklyn Park have pharmacies too.

5. Bonus Perks

Hy-Vee’s Bonus Perks page description says you receive free items or Fuel Saver rewards once you complete the task for each Bonus Perk you activate.

No current offers were visible on the page on Oct. 3, only March 2024 ones, such as free Hy-Vee Freshly Made Tortilla Chips when you buy two.

The Perks terms call membership free, with no purchase necessary to join.

Free products are also among the rewards the program can give.

6. Digital Coupons and Member Prices

Hy-Vee’s Perks page showed digital coupons from $0.50 off to $6.00 off when checked on Oct. 3.

Each coupon showed an expiration date.

Members also get access to exclusive lower prices Hy-Vee calls Perks prices, according to its Perks FAQ.

Partner offers on travel, entertainment, electronics, dining and wellness are listed too.

Personalized offers you activate load to your Perks card.

You can see them in the Perks Hub in the Hy-Vee app.

In-Person Versus Virtual Visits

Hy-Vee’s Austin and Mankato Riverfront dietitian pages both say only virtual dietitian services are available at this time, as of Oct. 3.

The Albert Lea, Eagan, Mankato Hilltop and Rochester Circle Drive pages don’t state a visit type as of that date.

If you want an in-person visit, call your store before you book.
