6 Publix Deals South Carolinians Won’t Find in the Weekly Ad
South Carolina has over 70 Publix stores, and the weekly ad covers only a slice of what goes on sale inside them.
These are the Publix deals South Carolinians won’t find in the weekly ad.
1. Extra Savings Page
Publix runs a second savings list, and it isn’t the weekly ad.
Publix’s Extra Savings page tells shoppers up front that they’ll see offers they won’t find in the Publix Weekly Ad, on items across the store.
One list goes to print.
The Extra Savings list lives on Publix’s website, and its deals span departments.
A shopper who reads only the circular never sees it.
2. Offers Only Some Shoppers See
Publix builds a separate set of offers around the shopper rather than the week.
Club Publix members get perks picked for them when they opt in to personalized communications and enter their phone number at checkout.
Publix ties those picks to what a member buys.
The Club Publix FAQ adds that certain offers are limited by geographical area and store location.
A shopper in Columbia and a shopper in Greenville can open the app on the same morning and see two different sets of deals.
No statewide page covers that.
3. Birthday Treat With a 10-Day Deadline
Publix hands Club Publix members a birthday treat, and it reaches only the members who set it up ahead of time.
The birth date has to sit in the account at least 10 days before the birthday, according to the Club Publix FAQ, or the perk doesn’t come.
Late is late.
That field lives in the settings area of a Club Publix account.
Publix also spells out where the perk can’t be spent, including alcohol, tobacco, lottery items, postage stamps, gift cards and prescriptions.
None of that reaches the printed page.

4. Digital Coupons
Publix keeps a coupon list that never reaches the weekly ad.
Publix's digital coupon page asks shoppers to add offers to a Club Publix account and redeem them in-store at checkout.
Membership is free, and the redemption is a 10-digit phone number typed at the register.
Scissors never come into it.
Each coupon carries an expiration date, and expired offers drop out of the account without a shopper touching them.
A shopper without a Club Publix account can't clip any of it.
5. Clearance Shelf Tag
Publix flags products on their way off the shelf with a tag.
In Publix's shelf tag guide, a Clearance tag means the product will soon be unavailable.
Clearance and other in-store-only markdowns sit outside what Publix advertises, since the chain's rain-check policy reaches only items advertised outside the store.
Once it's gone, it's gone.
A discontinued sauce or an end-of-season item is the kind of thing that turns up under a Clearance tag.
What Publix's Shelf Tags Mean
Publix's shelf tag guide is a short list of labels, and only one of them says anything about a price coming down.
A Save tag speaks to the price, and the guide's wording keeps that reduction temporary.
A Clearance tag speaks to supply, since the guide defines it as a product that will soon be unavailable.
The other labels describe the product or who is eligible to buy it, so a shopper hunting a price cut has one label to scan for.
6. Flu Shot Gift Card
Publix runs a savings offer at the pharmacy counter that has nothing to do with groceries.
Publix is giving a $5 digital gift card to patients who get a free flu shot, an offer that opened at 12 a.m. Eastern on July 15, 2026 and continues while supplies last.
Eighteen is the floor.
Publix limits the gift cards to one per patient, and a patient either has a Publix Pharmacy account already or opens an account within 21 days of the shot.
The grocery circular has no page for the pharmacy counter.
Where the Weekly Ad Still Wins
Publix's weekly ad holds one thing none of these other lists can match.
When an advertised item sells out, Publix's savings FAQ says the store can issue a rain check good for 30 days for up to eight units at the sale price.
That protection reaches only items advertised outside the store, which means the printed ad, the mailer, radio, television and the website.
Shelf tags get nothing.
The circular is still worth reading, and a rain check is the reason why.
Free Cookies at the Bakery Counter
Publix's bakery gives kids a free cookie, with no purchase and no clipped offer involved.
Publix's corporate newsroom described the giveaway in a July 2026 story as a tradition passed between generations, and put it at roughly 37.5 million cookies a year.
Kids choose the flavor, with chocolate chip, sugar and sprinkle on the counter.
Three flavors, no charge.
Publix publishes no age limit and no list of rules for the cookie, which leaves the bakery counter as the place to ask.
It costs nothing, and it needs no account.
5 Things South Carolina Shoppers Order Wrong at Piggly Wiggly's Bakery

Piggly Wiggly runs its own bakery rules across South Carolina, and they change more from store to store than many shoppers expect.
A birthday cake order that goes smoothly at one location can turn into a last-minute scramble at another.
It usually comes down to one detail nobody thinks to ask about.

9 Ways to Embarrass Yourself at Your First South Carolina Oyster Roast

A South Carolina oyster roast runs on its own unspoken rules, and a first-timer can break several of them before the first shell hits the table.
There's no plate, no fork, and no waiter walking newcomers through it, just a knife, a glove, and a crowd of locals who've done this every fall.
