6 Winn-Dixie Rewards Perks Floridians Keep Missing
Outside Florida, The Winn-Dixie Company says it’s down to stores in five Georgia towns.
Florida is where nearly all of its stores still are, and the savings inside them run through a free Rewards account now.
Many shoppers leave a good bit of it behind.
These are the Winn-Dixie Rewards perks people keep missing.
1. Members-Only BOGO Deals
Winn-Dixie’s BOGO deals shape a lot of grocery lists.
Buy one, get one free cuts the cost of the pair in half.
Winn-Dixie’s rewards page states that every weekly sale price, BOGO and special in the store is for Rewards members only.
That covers the whole ad, not just the BOGOs.
Loyalty alone doesn’t count.
A shopper who never registered pays the shelf price on both packages.
Setting up a free account takes about two minutes on the website, in the app, or at the register with a phone number.
Winn-Dixie Prices Are Set by Store
Winn-Dixie’s weekly ad doesn’t carry one price list for the whole chain.
The ad page asks for a store first, then labels everything it shows as valid for that location.
So the store saved in an account decides which sale prices a member sees.
2. Points Into Groceries
Every trip through a Winn-Dixie register earns points, not only the weeks something’s on sale.
That same rewards page sets the rate at 1 point for every $2 spent.
Then 100 points convert to $1 in free groceries.
A $100 grocery run banks 50 points, which works out to about 50 cents back on that trip.
It’s steady rather than spectacular.
Members redeem the balance in-store or online, whichever is easier.
3. Coupons Built Around Your Cart
Winn-Dixie builds its coupon list around what a member buys most.
The app and the website pull from that purchase history, so two carts in the same aisle turn up two different sets of offers.
A member still has to activate each coupon online or in the app before checkout.
Skip that step, and the discount never reaches the receipt.
Many longtime shoppers still clip paper coupons out of habit.
The habit isn’t wrong.
It’s just aimed at a store that doesn’t run quite the way it used to.
4. Percent-Back Bonus Offers
Percent-back offers land in a Winn-Dixie member’s account on top of the flat points rate.
The reward comes back as points, not as money off at the register.
None of it happens automatically.
Winn-Dixie’s rewards page tells members to check the app or the website and activate each offer before they shop.
An offer left unactivated pays nothing.
That one tap is the difference between the base rate and the bonus.

5. Free Item Every Birthday
Birthday month brings Rewards members a free item at Winn-Dixie.
The rewards page lists it as a free item rather than a discount, and it doesn't say ahead of time what that item will be.
That's part of the fun.
It lands on a date instead of a receipt, which makes it easy to forget.
6. Five Dollars at Sign-Up
New Winn-Dixie Rewards members get a $5 off $30 coupon the moment they sign up.
Winn-Dixie calls it a sign-up offer, so it arrives before a member has earned a single point.
It's there on day one.
Five dollars off a $30 basket takes a sixth off the bill.
Matching that $5 through points alone would take roughly $1,000 in groceries at the program's rate.
The Blue Price Hold Tags
Winn-Dixie runs Price Hold as a separate savings program, and its rewards page doesn't list it among the member benefits.
Blue in-store signs mark the products it covers, a detail the chain spelled out when it announced the program in 2024.
Winn-Dixie's site currently advertises savings of over 20% on those items.
They're easy to walk past.
A shopper scanning only for the weekly-ad tags misses them completely.
The signs sit on the shelf edge, not on the register screen.
The Liquor Store Next Door
Across Florida and southern Georgia, Winn-Dixie has about 140 liquor stores against roughly 130 supermarkets.
Some are freestanding and some sit right beside a Winn-Dixie, sharing a parking lot but never a doorway.
Florida law is the reason.
A package store selling spirits has to be devoted exclusively to those sales under state statute.
The same law bars any opening that would let a customer walk straight from the liquor store into another building or room.
Lawmakers tried to knock that wall down in 2017.
Both chambers passed the bill, and Governor Rick Scott vetoed it that May.
The wall is still standing.
So a bottle of bourbon and the week's groceries still mean two separate stops in one parking lot.
A Much Smaller Winn-Dixie Now
Winn-Dixie's remaining Georgia stores sit in Brunswick, Folkston, Lake Park, St. Simons Island and Valdosta.
A group led by Anthony Hucker, Winn-Dixie’s chief executive, and C&S Wholesale Grocers bought the chain in 2025.
The new owners also picked up three Hitchcock's Markets stores in Alachua, Keystone Heights and Williston.
Williston opened under the Winn-Dixie banner first, in December 2025, and the other conversions followed through 2026.
The name outlived the footprint.
Every Harveys Supermarket in the group finished converting to the Winn-Dixie banner by the middle of 2026.
Shoppers in Jacksonville, Lakeland, Lake City and Ocala now walk into a Winn-Dixie where a Harveys used to be.
No Pharmacy, No Senior Discount Day
Winn-Dixie closed its pharmacies for good in 2023.
That was chain-wide.
A shopper heading to the back of the store for a prescription won't find a pharmacy counter.
Southeastern Grocers, which owned Winn-Dixie in 2023, sold the chain's prescription files to the drugstore chains CVS and Walgreens.
Customers got a letter in the mail, and the files moved on their behalf rather than by request.
Winn-Dixie doesn't run a formal senior discount day either.
The retiree advocacy group AARP keeps a roundup of supermarket senior discounts, updated in March 2026, and it names thirteen chains without Winn-Dixie among them.
