5 Cracker Barrel Seasonal Pies South Carolinians Wait All Year For

Fall is here, and so is the craving for something sweet.

At Cracker Barrel, some pies only stick around for a handful of weeks.

Here’s what South Carolinians can plan their fall around.

1. Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin Pie leaves Cracker Barrel’s dessert case first, weeks before the rest of the fall lineup.

The fresh-baked whole pie stops selling for the year right around Thanksgiving, and in 2025 that cutoff landed on Nov. 26.

Blink and it’s gone.

Cracker Barrel’s 2018 Thanksgiving announcement bracketed it just as tight, listing the pie for sale only Nov. 17 through Nov. 25 that year, “while supplies last.”

That’s a nine-day sale window in a season that otherwise runs closer to two months.

Pumpkin Pie still lingers a little longer in a different form, tucked whole into Cracker Barrel’s Heat n’ Serve holiday feast alongside a whole pecan pie.

That feast feeds eight to ten people, but the stand-alone slice case version comes off the shelf first.

The Pie Case’s Staggered Exit

Cracker Barrel doesn’t retire its whole-pie lineup on a single day.

Pumpkin Pie is the one that exits first, and the other four pies on this list keep baking through Dec. 24, per Cracker Barrel’s fall and holiday announcements.

2. All-American Apple Pie

All-American Apple Pie carries a label the other holiday pies don’t: No sugar added.

Cracker Barrel’s 2018 Thanksgiving announcement put All-American Apple Pie on the same short leash as its other fresh-baked pies.

That year’s sale window ran only from Oct. 29 through Dec. 24, priced at $8.99 a whole pie.

It’s not a year-round option.

Coverage of the chain’s current fall and holiday menu still places the pie in that same seasonal window, never the everyday dessert case.

Cracker Barrel has run the same no-sugar-added pie in its fall lineup for years, dating back to at least that 2018 announcement.

Nobody else on the fall pie table skips the sugar.

3. Pecan Pie

Cracker Barrel’s Pecan Pie sticks to the classic recipe, no chocolate chips folded into the filling.

That same 2018 Thanksgiving announcement put this whole pie on the fall list at $8.99, on sale only from Oct. 29 through Dec. 24 that year.

That’s the same short fall window every pie on this list gets.

Cracker Barrel’s 2025 holiday menu announcement still named pecan among the season’s fresh-baked flavors, right alongside chocolate pecan, apple streusel and cinnamon roll.

Seven years apart, same pie, same fall shelf.

The everyday dessert case skips it.

No Pecan Pie sits next to the Coca-Cola cake in July.

Fall only.

4. Chocolate Pecan Pie

Cracker Barrel’s Chocolate Pecan Pie takes a classic Southern pecan pie and studs the filling with semi-sweet chocolate chips.

It’s a specialty spin, not a permanent menu item.

Tracking of Cracker Barrel’s seasonal desserts places it squarely in the Nov.-Dec. holiday window, alongside the rest of the fall lineup.

The chips set it apart.

It doesn’t show up outside that window.

Serve it chilled for a firmer bite, or warm a slice and add ice cream.

Either way, it disappears from the case the same week as the rest of December’s pies.

5. Cinnamon Roll Pie

Cracker Barrel's Cinnamon Roll Pie is the newest name on this list.

Cracker Barrel bakes actual cinnamon rolls into a pie crust and finishes the whole thing with a sweet cream cheese drizzle.

The chain's description calls it a dessert mashup, not a traditional pie.

Mashed's tracking of the chain's seasonal menu puts its debut around 2021.

A brandeating.com report from that same November catches the debut as it happened, confirming the year firsthand.

It has returned every November and December since.

A single slice runs about $5, per pricing tracked on the chain's 2025 holiday menu.

It's five years running now.

Whole Pies vs. the Everyday Case

Cracker Barrel's everyday dessert case runs on a separate calendar.

Peach cobbler and the chain's Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake stay on the menu all year, no countdown attached.

Every pie on this list lives somewhere else, inside the fresh-baked whole-pie program that opens up each fall and closes again by Christmas Eve.

Pumpkin Pie's run is even shorter than that.

The countdown makes it special.

Cracker Barrel's 2018 Thanksgiving announcement estimated the chain would serve more than 1.1 million pie slices that holiday alone, a scale the everyday dessert case never sees.

That's the whole reason the waiting is part of the deal.

A slice from the everyday case never disappears the way a fall pie does.

South Carolina's Short Fall Window

The South Carolina State Fair's site confirms this year's Columbia run, Oct. 15-25, the same stretch when Cracker Barrel's holiday pies start filling the case.

The fair itself dates back to 1869, when the State Agricultural and Mechanical Society of South Carolina first organized it, decades before any Cracker Barrel pie existed.

By 2019 it had run for 150 straight years, skipping only 1918 because of the flu pandemic.

No pie comes close.

A 2018 economic-impact study put the fair's yearly reach at roughly 400,000 people and $45.5 million.

Cracker Barrel's holiday pie case doesn't run anywhere near that scale.

It empties out again by Christmas Eve.

High Wire Distilling put 570 bottles of Jimmy Red bourbon corn whiskey up for sale in Charleston in 2016, and the batch sold out within the hour.

That corn nearly disappeared before one South Carolina farmer saved the seed, and it's far from the only humble ingredient the state turned into something people now chase.

A 12-by-12 tent is legal on a South Carolina beach starting the day after Labor Day, right through the day before Memorial Day.

The week the tourists clear out, a beach town rewrites a whole list of rules like that one, and the change shows up faster than newcomers would guess.
