1. Fuel Points at the Pump
Harris Teeter calls its loyalty card the Very Important Customer (VIC) card, and every dollar spent under a scanned VIC card turns into a Fuel Point.
The points add up faster than many shoppers realize.
One hundred points knocks 10 cents off every gallon of gas.
Rack up 1,000 points in a single month, and Harris Teeter caps the discount at $1 off per gallon, on up to 35 gallons.
It’s worth the swipe.
The points work at Harris Teeter’s own fuel centers and at participating BP and Amoco stations, so you don’t need a Harris Teeter gas pump nearby to cash them in.
There’s a catch worth knowing: Points earned in a given month expire at the end of the next month, and they don’t roll over or combine across months.
Spend them or lose them.
2. Free Generic Prescriptions
A generic savings club sits behind the counter at Harris Teeter pharmacies, a program most shoppers never think to ask about.
A 30-day supply of generic medication costs $3.99 under the program, covering hundreds of common prescriptions.
Diabetes changes the math even more.
Five common generic diabetic medications come free for a 30-day supply, no membership fee required.
Prescription costs tend to rise with age, so the program lands right where many older shoppers need it.
